I ASPIRE TO BE A WOMAN

For me there is a world of difference between these two remarks — I need to be a woman and I want to be a woman. If we are using the word ‘need’ as in what we truly need (air, water, food, etc), I do not need to be a woman. I simply want to be a woman. However if we are using ‘want’ as a term to describe what we would like to have it our lives, I feel it does not truly describe my desire to be a woman. Somewhere between ‘want’ and ‘need’ is the right term to describe my desire. But so what. I am willing to leave it as want, because unlike transgender women I do not feel I truly need to be a woman — to be myself.
